A new chapter in the history of the halal world: A strategic alliance between Thailand and Saudi Arabia.

Today (February 15, 2026), at a prestigious signing ceremony marking a historic international milestone, the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand (CICOT), led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Committee, along with Dr. Ali Khan, Deputy Secretary-General/Chairman of International Affairs, and Dr. Muhammad Amin Cheh Nu, Director of the Halal Standard Institute, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on halal cooperation with the Saudi Halal Center.

Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Rashudi, CEO of the Center, represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the signing ceremony.

This collaboration was honored by the presence of influential witnesses from both national and global Muslim communities. Witnessing this achievement were:

• H.E. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasibi, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

• H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al Shasari, Privy Councillor

• H.E. Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Qasibi, Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO)

• H.E. Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al Jada'i, Governor of Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA)

“Vision of Cooperation: More than certification, it’s about creating global standards”

This signing is not just a bilateral agreement, but lays the foundation for a “new Halal ecosystem” through three pillars:

1. Digital Innovation: Developing a digital Halal platform and QR code system for global transparency and traceability.

2. Global Recognition: Mutual recognition of Halal standards and marks to open the door to a free and secure global Muslim market.

3. Human Capital: Jointly developing a Global Halal Academy to create internationally recognized experts.

On this auspicious occasion, the Republic of Indonesia has signed a cooperation agreement reflecting the unity of the Muslim community (Ummah) in driving the halal industry to become a key mechanism of the global economy in a concrete, stable, and sustainable manner.

This confirms that Thai halal is an internationally recognized standard that the world proudly accepts.
