Announcement from the Royal Household Bureau: Her Majesty the Queen Mother has passed away.

On October 25, 2025, the Bureau of the Royal Household announced the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. The statement stated that the medical team providing care for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, had requested permission to invite Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, to stay at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, from September 7, 2019, for monitoring of her various medical conditions. It is generally acknowledged that during her stay at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, suffered from multiple illnesses and the medical team detected various medical abnormalities. Consequently, the medical team has provided continuous treatment.

Since October 17, 2025, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, Her Majesty the Queen Mother suffered from a blood infection. Despite the best medical care, her condition deteriorated. On Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9:21 PM, she passed away peacefully at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, at the age of 93.

His Majesty the King has issued a royal command for the Bureau of the Royal Household to administer the funeral with the highest royal honors, in accordance with royal tradition. The body will be laid to rest in the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.

His Majesty has graciously granted a period of mourning for members of the Royal Family and courtiers for one year, beginning on the day of her death.
