The King and Queen presided over the opening of the annual Maulid Festival of Thailand in 1446 AH.

At 16.32 on April 18, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen traveled by royal vehicle to open the “Maulid Central of Thailand for the year of Hijri 1446” (2568 B.E.) at the National Islamic Administration Center, Chalermprakiat, Nong Chok District, Bangkok. Upon arrival at the National Islamic Administration Center, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Arun Boonchum, Chularatchamontri, as Chairman of the Central Maulid Organization of Thailand, Pol. Maj. Gen. Surin Palare, Chairman of the Central Maulid Organization of Thailand, along with the organizing committee, welcomed His Majesty. His Majesty then granted an audience to Assistant Professor Wisarut Laowithi, Chairman of the Memorial Book Division. and Miss Prinda Palare was present at the royal audience to present the program and the memorial book for the Central Maulid Ceremony of Thailand to His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen. After that, Mr. Yongyuth Chaipromprasit, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Bank of Thailand was present at the royal audience to present money for royal charity according to His Majesty's wishes.

Later, His Majesty granted an audience to Mr. Prasert Yaman, the winner of the Qari test in the Central Maulid of Thailand, to invite the Holy Quran, and Mr. Manit Thongsaeng, the representative of the organizing committee, to translate the meaning into Thai. Then, His Majesty granted an audience to Mr. Arun Boonchum, the Chularatchamontri, to briefly report the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). After that, the chairman of the Central Maulid of Thailand, reported the objectives of organizing the Central Maulid of Thailand for the year 1446 Hijri, 2568 B.E. After that, Associate Professor Pakorn Priyakorn, the secretary of the organizing committee, reported the winners of the Qari test competition in the general category for men and the general category for women for the year 1440 Hijri, 2562 B.E. and the winners of the Java Sparrow singing contest, to receive the trophies. and humbly requesting the sponsors of the event to come and pay their respects to His Majesty the King to receive the honorary plaque.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King gave a royal address to open the Central Maulid Festival of Thailand. After that, Mr. Prasan Sricharoen, the President of the Religious Ceremony, read the prose for the birthday of the Lord Buddha. After that, the Chularatchamontri led the prayers to offer blessings to His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, and the Royal Family.

After that, His Majesty proceeded to view the exhibition in honor of His Majesty the King, “Thotsamarach Maha Vajiralongkorn”, which displayed the history and royal duties of His Majesty the King, including royal projects in various fields, and viewed the exhibition “Halal, the contributions of the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, which are clearly evident in the economy. and society in the world today” to disseminate the development of science, technology and innovation to promote Halal activities in Thailand.

On this occasion, His Majesty visited various activities, such as activities that showcase Islamic arts and culture related to the Muslim lifestyle related to Thai society and the Halal product exhibition from Muslim entrepreneurs, etc. After that, His Majesty granted an audience to the organizing committee to present souvenirs to His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen. When the time was right, His Majesty boarded the royal vehicle and returned.

The Central Maulid Festival of Thailand is an important celebration for Thai Muslims, which has been held continuously every year. It was first held in the year 1385 AH, Buddhist Era 2504. This year marks the 58th time that the event has been held with the cooperation of Thai Muslims nationwide through Islamic religious organizations to honor the moral teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, with determination and awareness in practicing the principles and behaving according to the example of the Prophet Muhammad as a guideline for life. In order to create love and peace among the nation, His Majesty the King, as the Supreme Patriarch of Religion, has graciously granted and supported the organization of the event since the time when he was Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. He has represented His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great to open the Maulid Festival of Thailand continuously every year since 1984 until 2016. This is an immeasurable act of kindness towards Thai Muslims. His Majesty the King attaches importance to and continues the royal intentions of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. They have played an important role in supporting and promoting Islam and Muslim society in Thailand continuously. His Majesty also supported the activities of Islam with his deep understanding of the importance of religion. In addition, His Majesty graciously bestowed awards on the national Quran recitation contest, granted honorary plaques and cash prizes to the provincial Islamic committees and imams with outstanding performance, and granted awards to school representatives, school administrators, teachers, and students of private Islamic schools in the South every year. His Majesty also granted royal initiative projects to develop water sources in the three southern border provinces, where the majority of the population in the area are Thai Muslims. These royal initiative projects are therefore projects that greatly benefit Thai Muslims, including granting scholarships to schools in Pattani Province under the Education Fund Project. The granting of various royal graces demonstrates the bond and loyalty between the monarchy and Thai Muslims, which are important factors in creating a Thai society with cultural diversity towards true unity and harmony. It is an immeasurable royal grace towards the Thai Muslim people.
