Phraya Chularatchamontri Chen

The fourth Chularatchamontri of the Ayutthaya Kingdom was Phraya Chularatchamontri (Chen). He was the son of Chao Phraya Phet Phichai (Jai), who was a descendant of Sheikh Ahmad. His term coincided with the reign of King Borommakot.

Phraya Chularatchamontri (Chen) was in charge of both the Central Harbor Department (Krom Tha Klang) and the Cham Volunteer Corps. He was granted the same honors as the Chao Phraya Phra Khlang (Minister of the Treasury) but was not officially given the title of Chao Phraya.

Phraya Chularatchamontri (Chen) had one son with Khunying Konthong named Konkaew. He later inherited the position of Chularatchamontri, a time that coincided with the reign of King Rama I the Great.

Phraya Chularatchamontri (Chen) was the last person to hold this position during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Therefore, there were only four Chularatchamontri throughout the Ayutthaya period.
